Back in the saddle

(This was from memorial day,but it fit the mood.)

Saturday,I went on my first trail ride of the summer with a friend. It was amazing! I was so happy to be in the saddle again! I have been working and riding my horse at home,but she is older and a little stiff,so we are taking things slow with her. Saturday I rode my friend's Thoroughbred. We cantered the horses through the fields and had loads of fun! Afterwards,we took her pony down to the creek and had a little photo shoot. I think the dog was a little more into the picture thing than the pony,but we had fun.

A bit of farm life...

We finally got our horse Mindy! When she came to us,she was VERY under-weight. The horse she was pastured with didn't let her eat. They were kept together to protect them from coyotes. The other horse would stomp any dog in the mud. I'd say to give her a month,and she will gain the weight back. In our family,you don't stay skinny long;) Our first morning with the horse,my sister and I ran outside early to feed her. We spent the whole morning feeding and grooming her. And mucking out the yard.
I am enjoying this little farm we've become!
